Fictional Military Resistance to US Led Occupation of Afghanistan

Resistance to the US led colonial plans for Afghanistan is being purposely over stated

This post looks at the AP News article linked to at the bottom of this post, which is dated Saturday December 5th 2009 and written by Associated Press Writer Deb Riechmann. The AP article states “Little Resistance” to the Helmand Province Assault by US led Occupation forces. The article also curiously omits the total number of resistance fighters which a previous AP article disclosed as no more than 100.

The conclusion reached by our previous post in regard to the Now Zad Afghanistan December 2009 Occupation Assault; that the military threat in Afghanistan being promoted by Eurocentric Colonial Powers is overblown, is further supported by this follow up article. This post goes into the points raised in this article by Riechmann, and how they further support our position of a non-existent military threat to these occupation forces which in turn points to only a colonial mission for these military forces.

Here we list the points:

The second paragraph states “American and Afghan troops have met little resistance since Operation Cobra’s Anger was launched Friday to disrupt Taliban supply and communications lines.”

The fifth paragraph explains “No coalition casualties have been reported,” while either eleven resistance fighters have been killed and five captured or seven killed and two captured.

The frequency of these crippling occupation assaults to the resistance fighters supply lines is alluded to in the eighth paragraph when the last such assault is listed as occurring 3 months ago.

In the tenth paragraph, the Afghan military collaborating with the Eurocentric occupation is said to be in the five thousand member range to join a segment of the newly dispatched thirty thousand military occupier force from the US and additional new occupiers from Britain.

The low number of resistance fighters is affirmed when reading the eleventh and twelfth paragraphs and seeing that resistance assaults have no more than ten participants with basic armaments of rifles and machine guns. The twelfth paragraph also illustrates how easy it is to capture what are called “senior” members of the resistance forces, traveling with just a “handful” of comrades with little protection. If high ranking members of the resistance group travel with such little escort, it shows the weakness of their military strength.

In the final paragraph, the article lists a cache of armaments captured from another resistance group location as “AK-47 rifles, pistols, fragmentation grenades and chest racks fully loaded with AK-47 magazines” these are most likely left over supplies from the Soviets. This weaponry is outdated by at least twenty years compared to equipment supplied to the Eurocentric occupation forces.

In the seventh paragraph, the rationale used to justify this assault on the Now Zad region is listed as halting the transport of “drugs, weapons and fighters south toward major populations and to provinces in western Afghanistan.” But we propose that this military assault on the Now Zad region has more to do with securing a pipeline between Turkmenistan and the Indian Ocean. Take a look at the Google Map linked to below, and see the central position of the Now Zad location in relation to Turkmenistan and the Indian Ocean.

  1. The difference between the current actions in the middle east within Afghanistan and Iraq is using the cover of 9-11 United States can fight overtly. The US Government representatives are fighting several wars overtly all around the globe. Its policy and has nothing to do with the will of US people.
